the bottle..

Well, Austyn has done a great job with the eating, activity, sleeping thing we like to call LIFE AS WE KNOW IT NOW!! About 5 days ago we switched to a new bottle out of desperation to help alleviate some of Austyn's gas bubble issues. She has been on somewhat of a routine, in the sense that she doesn't scream for hours in pain in between feeding. I'd like to introduce you to Dr. Brown and his bottle. This lil' dandy is a gift from God- no joke! The milk goes into the baby's mouth by going around the straw thing. When the baby tries to blow air into the bottle to make milk bubbles, the air goes through the straw to the top of the bottle (the bottom, really) so their aren't bubble problems. This bottle has helped us so much. We highly recommend it!!

Owen has started back to work after the Christmas holiday that the seminary gives to all employees. Austyn and I are hanging out at the apartment by ourselves nowadays. Every day we go for a walk up to Owen's office to visit. She does so well in her stroller- as long as she isn't hungry. This past Sunday, Austyn and I went into the babies' room at church so she could eat. This was my first experience ever in this room at any church. It's funny how visiting a new place always evokes a sense of cautiousness. I didn't want to her projectile vomit on anything or scream and scare the other children. These are the joys of parenting, and we are newbies at this game.

At her 1 month check-up (2 weeks ago), she weighed in at 10 lbs. 1 oz. She is growing so fast. Owen and I are going to get some serious muscles (and backaches) from caring our little pumpkin around. Here are a few pics of her and a video of her in her 'happy place'. No matter how upset or gassy she is, Austyn is always happy as soon as you lay her down on her changing table. In the the video, she is kicking this bee that makes crinkley sounds- she just loves it! We are trying to take pics to update, but not having a routine with our SPIRITED baby is going to make posting a true effort- fyi.
